Syrian Refugee Crisis in Canada
Hello everyone!
Today, Chris Stoicheff and Guilherme Rosales have an informed conversation about the Syrian Refugee Crisis. They consider and provide evaluative ideas onto how the Federal Government of Canada handled their international participation and response in the Syrian Refugee Crisis. They also consider various gaps in planning and execution of the plan that was implemented for this migrant group. This conversation will most likely continue and will be the first in a future series that will explore this issue in greater depth.
Guilherme Rosales is a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs student at the University of British Columbia. He has been a wildland firefighter with the BC Wildfire Service for the past five years, a community organizer coordinating neighbourhood block parties from 2011 to 2015 in the Oakridge neighbourhood area of Vancouver, as well as a labour activist and advocate with CUPE 15 and the BCGEU.
Chris Stoicheff is a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs student at the University of British Columbia. He previously completed his BA and MA at the University of Saskatchewan, where he wrote his MA thesis on foreign takeovers in Canada's non-renewable resource sector. Chris is interested in numerous foreign policy issues, including East Asian policy, human rights, foreign investment, and regional conflict dispute resolution.
