Hello! Hope everyone is doing well as the school year comes to a close.

On today’s episode Guilherme Rosales sits down with Josh Tafel on discussing rent control in Vancouver, diving into the history of rent and vacancy control in the city, and the issues that surround these policies today.

Guilherme Rosales is a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs student at the University of British Columbia. He has been a wildland firefighter with the BC Wildfire Service for the past five years, a community organizer coordinating neighbourhood block parties from 2011 to 2015 in the Oakridge neighbourhood area of Vancouver, as well as a labour activist and advocate with CUPE 15 and the BCGEU.

Josh Tafel is a Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs student at the University of British Columbia. Born and raised in Vancouver, Josh completed his BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at UBC’s Okanagan campus. He is interested especially in the interaction between philosophy and economics, and hopes to make change by looking at how global cooperation can drive economic development.
